I'm Not Talented At Anything

I'm Not Talented At Anything

Recently I implemented a new segment into my vlog and it's entitled "Quote of the day". I'm sure you guys have already figured out what this segment is, but for those who haven't, it's simple. At the end of every vlog I pick a quote, recite it and then share my opinion on it.

Don't Punish Those Who Don't Understand Your Dreams

Don't Punish Those Who Don't Understand Your Dreams

My job is pretty easy going, but it's mindless work. Yesterday I told a few people who I considered close to me that I had put in my two weeks at my current job. All I do while I'm there is think, dream, and think some more. It's to the point where I'm going mad. As expected, everyone asked, “What are you going to do for money?” During my response, one particular friend of mine cut me off mid-sentence and said "that’s great and all, but it’s never going to happen… You have to live life realistically".

Work-life balance... That's something I need to work on. I try to enjoy life in every facet. I jam-pack my schedule with all things I'm interested in, this has helped me somewhat, but on super busy days it leaves me overwhelmed, which can result in me simply doing nothing. One thing I've been trying to do to combat this is prioritize my task, ranging from least important to most important. Step Outside Your Comfort Zone To Find Inspiration

As a photographer it's second nature for me to compare myself to others. It's not the most healthiest habit, but it's inevitable. I'm really big on photo books, and documentaries, more recently I've fell in love with everything Vivian Maier has touched. Much like the lady in the documentary I think I love her story more so than her work (though her work is equally amazing). Beyond her I also enjoy the likes of Trent Parke, Robert Frank and Sally Mann. However i've noticed when looking at their work, I'm doing so as a fan, I'm not researching or looking for guidance, I just enjoy good pictures. Sure, I want their legacy, but in terms of inspiration, it's just not enough for me.

Why Do We Take Photographs?

Why Do We Take Photographs?

It's 4:30 AM and I'm currently drinking some daytime theraflu. I was woken up out of my sleep due to it being a bit cold in my apartment, only to notice that my throat was slightly sore... Hopefully I can fight this off.

I'm currently watching Daily Vee 11, a daily segment by Gary Vaynerchuk, which shows his behind the scenes of his life, including, but not limited to his meetings, interviews and audio book reading sessions... It's great, you should really check it out.
